The possible types of layouts are displayed in the right side of the Edit Layout page:
Those are:
"Downlink" refers to the process of transmitting data from an aircraft to ground systems during flight or after landing. This data can include various types of information (Aircraft Health and Performance Data, Flight and Navigation Data, Weather Data, Passenger Services Data, etc). Downlinking is often automated and occurs at regular intervals or when certain thresholds are met, depending on the specific airline's needs and the aircraft’s capabilities. This continuous data flow allows airlines to improve safety, optimise fuel efficiency, and enhance operational efficiency.
A web connector is a tool or software component that allows different systems or applications to communicate and exchange data over the web. It acts as a bridge, linking one system to another by translating and transferring data between them.
An "uplink" is the process of sending data from ground systems to an aircraft. This data can include Aircraft Health and Performance Data, Flight and Navigation Data, Weather Data, Passenger Services Data, etc. Uplinks are crucial for real-time communication, allowing ground teams to keep the aircraft informed and helping pilots make adjustments as conditions change during the flight.
